Privacy Policy

ApartMan is a community app that connects residents of the same building. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to make the app work. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
- Phone number — used to verify your account via SMS. It is never shown to your neighbors.
- Name — shown to other residents of your building so they can recognise you.
- Location — used at sign-up to find your building on a map and match you with existing residents. We do not track your location in the background.
- Apartment details — entrance, floor, and unit number you enter during onboarding, used to organise building chats, dues and projects.
- Optional profile info — profile photo, email, gender, and birth date, shown only if you choose to provide them.
- Messages & content — messages you send in building or direct chats, and comments on projects, stored so the app can deliver them.
- Device push token — used to deliver notifications (e.g. new messages, join requests).
How we use your data
- To match you with your building and fellow residents.
- To deliver building chats, direct messages, dues tracking, and shared projects.
- To send notifications about activity that concerns you.
- To secure your account and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data. Your information is used only to operate ApartMan and build the community inside your building. We do not share it with advertisers or third-party data brokers.
Data security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is protected by row-level security rules so that only members of your building can see building-scoped content. We apply industry-standard practices to protect your account, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a device passcode and keep your phone number safe.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile, change your language, and control privacy settings (direct messages, read receipts, online status) at any time from the Profile tab.
- You can leave a building to remove your membership and stop receiving its notifications.
- You can delete your account from Account Settings. This permanently removes your profile and associated data.
Children
ApartMan is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app.
